Hi there,

Thank you all for attending the Art Of Provocation.  Your presence informed the call and had it go the way it went; well done.
 
Here are some of the key items that were part of the Art of Provocation:

1.  Clear yourself - when you have no concerns about being provocative, that's when you can be most effectively and appropriately provocative.  Otherwise the coaching is too 'soft', or coming from the intellect's idea that it "should" be provocative.

2.  Trust in the resilience and strength of the client.  If they're too fragile to provoke, they're probably not your client - by the same token you may be holding a judgment about their level of capacity and capability.

3.  Resistance is simply a single of two overlapping messages, desire, followed quickly and strongly by fear of what will happen if that desire is realized.  It's a lightning quick rubber band reaction.  Pay attention to the desire, have huge compassion for the fear, and address it as a gatekeeper.  They're not fighting you, they're in the grip of their conditioning.

4.  Context for provoking - people need to know this is at times an uncomfortable process.  They also need to know they can handle it and sometimes you have to enroll them into it in order to effectively move them.  Enrollment is simply speaking to their Self, when their Not-Self is present, and asking it to come out and play.

5.  Provocation that is strong will get to the deeper levels.  If we just meekly provoke, especially in the realm where identification with an old self is present, we won't get to the deepest levels where transformation is possible.  It's about having an extraordinary experience of life, not an ordinary one.

6.  Lastly, when in doubt...muscle test.  This, combined with #1 so your intuition can come through loud and clear, will pave the way for the appropriate level of provocation to come through.

"Tommy fall down go Boom!"

On Sunday,  November 9th, I was riding my bike for the first time in a couple of years.  The bikes had needed maintenance, which I had just had done, and was going for my first ride. Coming home down a hill I got going faster than expected and the turn was tighter than expected so the wheels went out from under me and I landed on my shoulder on the quite unforgiving pavement.  Some neighbors who were driving by right at that moment stopped and came over to help me. They called Lynda who came and took me to the hospital for X-rays as the pain from the injury was significant.

You know how couples sometimes speak to each other in baby talk?  Well at some point during the morning while she was helping me through the ER visit, Lynda looked over at me and said in a loving voice - "Aw, Tommy fall down go Boom!"  It cracked us both up and I had to ask her for a little less humor because it hurt more when I laughed.

According to the orthopedic doc I saw a couple of days after the accident, apparently the broken collar bone usually takes about 2 to 4 weeks to heal and the cracked rib about 6 weeks.  I'm gradually feeling a bit better but it's a slow process.

This experience has certainly brought me one very clear distinction, which is the difference between pain and suffering. Pain is a sensation.  Suffering is all of the mental/emotional reactions to the sensation of the pain.  What I have noticed is that staying out of the mental and emotional reactions allows you to avoid the suffering.  It's still painful but the added layer of the suffering has been pretty much absent.  I'm grateful for the Pure Awareness Techniques for that!

Community Call with Tom Stone - The Levels of Life Model

We've had to postpone most events, such as the seminars that were originally scheduled for December that were mentioned in the last newsletter.  They will be rescheduled for January or February.  Also we've had to postpone some teleclasses and webinars as I have only had energy for my own healing.

However I am now starting to have enough energy to begin doing a little bit and I would like to give a fun community call next Friday, December 12th.  It's going to be all about the Levels of Life Model.

I mentioned the Levels of Life wiki in a previous newsletter.  On the surface it seems like it is just an outline for organizing all of the various modalities for helping resolve people's problems into a hierarchical structure that moves from subtler to grosser expressions of life as you move from bottom to top.  The four levels of life in this model are:

Bio-mechanical
Bio-chemical
Bio-energetic
Bio-Awareness (new word coined by Tom)

But what is really great about this model is that you can use it to help you very rapidly find the most appropriate way and most effective way to approach any human health or wellness issue as well as coaching issues. For example, it provides guidance as to whether it is optimal to use the WaveMaker or to use a Pure Awareness Technique for a given situation.  What I'll be doing on the community call is sharing with you how I use the Levels of Life Model and give some examples of how to use it with people on the call.

I have been amazed at how effective this is for getting you on the right track.  It really keeps you from wasting your time with the wrong modality.  We of course use muscle testing to determine at which level of life it is optimal to begin.  From there each person will have their own data base of modalities, techniques, skills and specialized knowledge from which to draw.

The Community Call will be about the practical use of the Levels of Life Model.  I am finding it to be an invaluable model.  It seems simple and it is.  Sometimes the simplest things are the best (usually in fact!). If you want to know how your cell phone and other EMF (Electro Magnetic Fields) stresses are affecting you, try this simple muscle test.

Turn your cell phone on and hold it over your heart.  Have someone muscle test your arm.  You'll very likely find that your arm will go weak.

Here's a test for the most important negative influence on our bodies -
  the opening of the blood-brain barrier.

You can have someone hold a cell phone that is turned on over their heart and muscle test them and you will almost certainly get a weak response. 	Classical Guitar CD by Tom now available!

I thought I would have some fun sharing part of my past with you.

As many of you may know my first career was as a musician. I was a classical guitarist and composer. But also being an inventor by nature I didn't stop at just learning to play the guitar. I took it a big step further. I invented a system of Interchangeable Fingerboards for the guitar that made it possible to play music from other cultures, other periods of history and new experimental music. This was made possible by placing the frets on these fingerboards in staggered positions so that we could get the authentic tuning of these different scales and systems. My first business was called "Intonation Systems" and we made these fingerboards for guitars.

It was a great time in my life. I was giving concerts and learning about business, solving the subtle engineering problems of being able to actually make these amazing Interchangeable Fingerboards, applying for patents (I got two of them granted) and composing and recording music too.

One of the things that I did was to record some beautiful music mainly from the Renaissance and Baroque periods in a tuning system that was used back then for tuning keyboard instruments. It was called "meantone temperament." Sometimes it was referred to as "well tempered."

I guess I've been fascinated with frequencies my whole life! What a perfect background this fascination with the subtleties of frequency relationships in music was for my later developing Human Software Engineering. It's where I learned all the details about how waves of energy interact!

When I made this recording in the the late 70's it was before CD's so I put it out on cassette tape. Recently a friend of mine got that old recording digitized and made a CD for me. It was fun to hear it again. So I decided that I'd put it out on CD so that everyone in our community who'd like to get a copy and hear my music from the past can do that.

What meantone temperament was designed to do was to make the harmonies more in tune and still allow playing the music in closely related "keys." It was a very clever development at the time. Although the math and the details are pretty technical (I was really into back then!) the result is that the chords of the music have a subtle but wonderfully calmness and clarity to them. They don't have the fast "beating" of our modern "equal temperament" that is used on most of our instruments these days.
