3-Minute Coaching Tip Walking a highwire. I just listened to a wonderful interview with Philippe Petit. He is the subject of the Oscar winning documentary called "Man on a Wire". In the interview he talked about when he walked a high wire across the Twin Towers thirty years ago. Mr. Petit was asked a seemingly obvious question - "What would have happened if you slipped?" Mr. Petit had a brilliant answer. He said something to the effect - I would never ask that question of myself. I just think about my dream and what I am "writing" (i.e. this is what he refers to as walking the wire) and I turn the question into an exclamation point. He goes on to say that when he steps out on the wire he makes his body follow his will. He never questions what he is doing. Coaching Tip: When you are about to "step out" -doing something that you want - a hobby, a new lifestyle, a sport, parenting, diet, recovery, art, etc, do it 100%. Turn it into an exclamation point, avoid the questions. Make your body follow your will. This is how you will fall in love with yourself and your life!
