I hope you have all been having fun with your gratitude lists and are becoming masterful at unbundling your statements, not limiting them, and refining them to the point that many things are actually manifesting in your life. Remember to just keep adding new ones as you experience change in your life.
Now that we have been practicing with our gratitude statements and have learned how to "clarify" them, it's time to move on to Step Two:
Resolving Fears
The first major obstacle to keep our intentions from coming into existence is our fears. The energy of fear has a tendency to keep us in the grip of the emotion and does not allow us to show up and participate in the experience of the very thing we want to manifest in our lives. Here is where the core dynamics can be extremely helpful.
So, what we want to learn now is "feeling into the core of the feeling." This technique is a very powerful way for resolving unresolved ENERGIES... fear being a key category. It is fear that stands in the way of us being totally who we are. It stands in the way of allowing our lives to unfold, participate, and enjoy in the most profound way.
The principal way that fear gets in the way is a direct result of our conditioning. The core dynamic concept is really a road map of the nature of these fears. With the core dynamics personal development techniques we can actually change the patterns of energy and information that hold these fears—these conditioned responses—in place.
Overcoming the Obstacles
In order to truly overcome the fears and allow them to NOT be barriers to our experiencing the manifestation of our desires and intentions, we must learn and become skillful at coming back to the nothingness out of which we created the fear in the first place. We create fear from nothingness. Not to be confused with meaning that fear is nothing... quite the contrary. We do have fears. But the reality of all emotions we create in our bodies is the ENERGY of it moving through our bodies. This energy has a particular characteristic to it. So, according to the "flavor" of the energy—it could be fear, anger, frustration or even happiness or joy. But the emotion of FEAR itself tends to be one of the deepest levels that keeps us from being able to take the actions that would allow us to actually experience the fulfillment of our desire and manifest our intentions.
The idea is to become skillful in using a simple technique for discreating our fears, especially those that are archived away on our personal internal hard drive and only get brought up into active memory when elicited by some circumstance or situation. These are the fears that get in the way of manifesting our life the way we want it to be. So we must ferret them out and resolve them. And, as we do, we increasingly clean up all the little "dust bunnies," as we call them, that get in the way of our simply being able to enjoy a life where our every intention just comes into being effortlessly.
Guided Practice and Review
Take some particularly outrageous part of your gratitude list—something you might be rather bold about intending, but it (he or she) has not yet manifested in your life. It would be something you've wanted to have show up in your life for a long time. For sake of example, I'm going to use an intention from one of my teleclasses:
"I manifest an ever-increasing flow of income."
First, we need to have a more vivid and detailed description of this. Try painting a picture of how you want this to look. Follow along and work on the intention you have chosen.
"I have money flowing in easily from people that really, really want to work with me and seek great value."
What we need to do now is to "uncouple" or "unbundle" this intention. Why would you want this money to flow in from "only" those people wanting to work with you? You can have money flowing in to you and you can have all these happy clients, but those need to be independent so you can give room for the Universe to organize the flow of money from any way it sees fit. Do you see the difference?
"A million dollars or more is flowing towards me easily and effortlessly."
Ah, I'm sure you're seeing the problem here. If it's flowing towards you, it will never get there. You have to intend it as if it's here now. Stand in a place where you can imagine you had a bank account with a million dollars in it. How does that feel? You may say that you feel very responsible for what you do with it and along with that comes a big fear about being overwhelmed by things like paying the taxes, what people will think of you, how you will handle it, etc.
Time to Go to the Core
After reading through the following description once, close your eyes and play the audio portion of Feeling to the Core by using the control panel below. You can adapt the example to your personal situation.
{insert sound file here}
Feel the energy of the fear. Locate where it is in your body. Notice that the energy of that fear of responsibility of how you might handle the million dollars has a charge to it. And this charge is keeping your bank account from having that million dollars in it. This energy in your body has an epicenter to it, a place from which it is emanating, like a fountainhead. Go right into the center of that fountainhead and with your feeling awareness, dive down in there and just explore, experientially, what it's like to feel down into the most intense part of the energy of that feeling.
The first thing you'll notice is that it is possible. Even though it's intense, you'll notice that it is possible. It's not difficult at all. And how extraordinary that is! Something you have been avoiding, maybe your whole life and it's not so difficult after all. It's only your childhood feeling-level memories that made it seem difficult. Notice after awhile that it does not continue to be static. It will seem to change in some way. It may become hotter or cooler. It may start to move or spread outward. It may even start to dissipate or fade in intensity.
If necessary as it seems to fade away, you can "click in closer" as if you were use something like Mapquest on your computer. Click in closer yet again to the epicenter of whatever is left of the energy of the feeling and just "be complete present to it" and feel into it. Continue feeling into it until there is nothing left to feel.
Sometime there may be layers of feeling stacked one on top of the other. For example, as one layer of the energy of the feeling fades, you may have another layer of feeling come up. So, now do the same thing with this new feeling. Find the center of the most intense part of the energy of this new feeling—and remember, we're not looking for intellectual insight; this is solely an experiential exercise. Just explore and find out what's down in there.
It may be red and angry, or black and cold. There may be thoughts associated with it. However, we are unconcerned with the thoughts about it whatever they are. This is just another layer of feeling down underneath the previous layer. Find the center of this additional layer of feeling. Is it in the same place? Is it still and silent or moving around and changing? Find the center of the most intense part of the energy of the feeling. Just allow your feeling awareness to penetrate into the most intense part of it.
Soon you will feel it start to dissipate... let it continue to dissipate so that it doesn't come back as a default when you start to open your eyes. Once it dissipates, allow yourself to be saturated in the peaceful place that has now been created. This is experiencing who you really are—your essential nature. It's a wonderfully quiet place, your pure awareness. This is the place we come to when we do a thorough job of feeling into the core of the feeling—no matter how many layers there are. When you feel something so thoroughly that there's nothing left to feel, know that this is the place from which we created those feelings in the first place.
You've probably been holding on to these feelings since you were about 3 years old, or maybe even earlier—unresolved feelings—deep-seated, unconscious patterns that keep you from being able to have what it is you truly want. Sometimes you can't even know what you truly want when these unresolved energies are still present.
The Provocation Test
Now you have this lovely bank account with more than a million dollars in it. We don't care how it got that way, as long as it was legitimate, right? Your mother is freaking out and your friends are appalled. They think you've moved uptown to play with the big boys (or girls) and now you're not accessible to them anymore. Even though you know you still have compassion and caring for them, they have disconnected from you!
The alone part is actually just an illusion. You may think that this dynamic will make you feel like you're going to be alone, but it's not true. In fact, you now have a whole new set of other cool millionaires that you're hanging out with. Check to make sure there are no charges left in this regard. If there are, find the center of them and feel into the core.
Once there are no energy charges left, you will know that you have just learned to dismantle the barriers to having what you want come into existence.
Your List
Start working with all the different things on your gratitude/intention list and ferret out those deep-seated patterns of energy—typically they are fears—that are in the way of you getting to enjoy your life the way you intend it. A great way to do this is to simply imagine having what it is in your life now. Then scan your body to see if there is any charge or fear or other emotion.
There are so many ridiculous fears that were created so many years ago that just don't make sense today, and yet, they are still there. They are still there because you have had a deep seated habit of not feeling things fully because they are too intense. We are conditioned as children to go away from where it is intense. We archive it somewhere, as if we are going to deal with it later, when in fact, it will emerge out of nowhere when we least expect it, or even worse, work insidiously sabotaging our intentions.
And remember that your lists are dynamic. They evolve over time and at times can evolve rather rapidly. So once you get it, don't think you're done. Life will evolve and so will your lists.
As You Practice
You will begin to see how amazing it is how many barriers and obstacles get in your way and just how equally amazing it is to dissipate them with this technique. As you progress, and as we continue with this series, you will learn to ask the right questions to draw out the feelings.
Become familiar with the Core Dynamics Model. This will help you understand where the particular barrier/obstacle/feeling fits within the model. Soon you will have a better understanding of how to ask the questions that will elicit some of your deepest fears and feelings.

When you are manifesting something in your life, you need energy. As you remove these barriers using the "feeing into the core" technique, you will find that there will be a new abundance of energy—a different kind of energy. And you may be used to it being the old, familiar, not-so-much energy kind. At first, it's a contrast. Don't slip back into the comfort of familiarity—and mediocrity. Welcome the new energy. Some people have described it as "skyrocketing onto a different planet." Some will feel discomfort with this, some will not. Any discomfort while acclimating to the new energy level will be temporary.
Some other things you may experience when there is a release of an energy you no longer want can be a sense of warmth in some part of your body. Or when you're doing the feeling into the core of the feeling exercise and you come back to nothingness—that deep, quiet, peaceful place—you might notice that your breathing will be a little slower and you'll be in a deeper state of rest. It's very calming.
Make a Commitment
Every time you have an opportunity to practice going to the core, make a commitment that you do it. No amount of talking through it will get rid of the density of the feelings in the very fibers of your body. There is no way to get there through the intellect. The only way is to experientially resolve these patterns of energy that keep us stuck in the illusion that we can't have what we want.
