Freedom from the Tyranny of Goals
"For 400 years, the word 'Goal' has imprisoned our race. Once, it was merely the "terminal point IN a race." Now we have shifted what was once a mere marker into an entire force and marketing product that seems to be how people define themselves and are motivated to move forward. It's as if the race NEVER moved forward until 1608 (the origin of the modern day application of the word). And there is an enormous acculturation of belief/custom/addiction to the idea that one can NEVER be successful or have a great life without having goals as the essential mechanism whereby that happens. Oh Really? Have you ever just found yourself at a single place in time and your life where it wasn't the result of some strategically planned, 5 years down the road, heavily visualized S.M.A.R.T. goal? How did that happen? If it wasn't you bending your entire system of resources to make it happen then what made it occur?"
I will not be on this call as I'll be in the Las Vegas area giving some presentations to groups of angel investors about GLT. So Michael will be introducing the expression of Pure Awareness that refers to himself as Michael Stratford!
